My "shadowing" assignment has turned into quite the nightmare and I'm glad to say that it's over. Here's two pictures from another set that I took for the project.

Made a little edit with this high definition camera that I had to buy this semester for my advanced photojournalism class. Looking forward to messing around and making more edits once the weather is nice again.

Shadowing Assignment

For my most recent assignment in advanced photojournalism we got into pairs, and are "shadowing" our partner for a week. The first pictures I got of my partner, Nick, were of him at the WREC playing basketball. The lighting was funky, I had to shoot at an ISO of 1600, which turned out alright I suppose...not completely sure how I feel about these

my plant

Over winter break I took a part of my mom's massive jade plant and potted it to have here in Chico. I'm stoked to watch it grow! Also - one of my goals as a photographer is to become proficient at making digital pictures look like film. I've been messing around with grain and contrast to see what I can get, but I'm still learning. One of my other attempts can be seen here.

JOUR 453

a.k.a. "Advanced Photojournalism." That's one of the classes I'm taking this semester and it seems like it's going to be really interesting as well as relevant to all of us 'aspiring journalists.' Today the professor had us all go outside and shoot four "candid" photos, one of them inside. I wasn't sure how I felt about creeping on random people with my camera, but after I took a few pictures, I got into it and had fun. Here are my "candid" results:





I like both of these two for different reasons, but the second one wins I think
